Associating Plans with Segments and Types
The ARC system automatically updates the segments and types for your members based on their plan purchases. Below is a summary of how to best utilize this feature so you can easily view your members by different categories for Marketing or tracking your revenue.
Plan Category
When you create a pricing plan there is an option to choose which plan category the member who purchases this plan should be associated with. Some examples of our default categories are:
- Recurring
- Drop-In
- Training
- Comp
- Free Pass
- Corporate
So if you created a membership plan of "3 workout free pass" and you set the plan category to "Free Pass" a member who purchased that subscription would show in the Members area as a "Free Pass" type as shown below.
If you wish to add your own custom categories you can do that following the steps below.
- Select Members from the left menu
- Select the Setting sub-menu as shown below:
-
- Select Type
Plan Segment
When you create a pricing plan there is an option to choose which segment the member who purchases this plan should be associated with. Some examples of our default segments are:
- Member - people who have purchased any type recurring membership.
- Prospects - people who have purchased free plans or one-time membership plans
The "Override Others" checkbox is not normally needed and should not be checked unless you want the users who purchase the plan you are creating to have the segment indicated above all other plans. The system already has logic to use recurring plans over free or one-time plans so you will most likely not need this option checked. You can only have ONE plan that overrides all others.
So if you created a membership plan called "Drop-In" and you set the plan segment to "Visitor" a user who purchased that subscription would show in the Members area as a "Visitor" as shown below.
If you wish to add your own custom segments you can do that following the steps below.
- Select Members from the left menu
- Select the Setting sub-menu as shown below:
-
- Select Segment
